Recently Madaari was announced to have been pushed further by a week. The film starring Irrfan Khan in the lead is directed by Nishikant Kamat and was set for a release on 15th July. However, another film which was originally scheduled to release a week after Madaari, which is Great Grand Masti was unfortunately leaked online and had to realign their release in order to reduce commercial impact and loss of revenues. The only solution and a much appreciated one was to look at a date swap with Madaari and thats exactly what the teams did. Director Inder Kumar and Nishikant Kamat along with Irrfan Khan concluded to pushed Madaari by a week in order to give Great Grand mast a quicker release before they’re hit with piracy all the more. Its great to see such support coming from an industry which is otherwise known for its clashes. Speaking on this, Nishikant said, ” I think the film industry needs to be more supportive of each other. While we were apprehensive to shift our date again to 22nd June but we felt strongly that the cause of piracy owing to Great Grand Masti’s leak was more crucial and as being creative people we must all must support each other and create an eco-system where we hopefully can survive through such tactical ways to fight back things like piracy.”
